About Tavia

Who is Tavia?!

Well, I am a 32 year old mother of two absolutely AMAZING kids! These two kids, as you will learn, have learned some horrific life lessons, and still love life!

This was our family last Christmas: Christmas, 2012

This picture was taken before our world was turned upside down, mixed in a blender and poured on top of us … When we thought the hardest thing we would ever do, was prepare for the day my mom lost her fight with cancer.

My mom, Natalie, lost her fight against cancer on January 21, 2013.  20130123_150708    20130123_152632

At 32 years old, I thought I had seen a lot in my life.

Apparently, I had no clue what was yet to come …

Just 5 short months later, an even bigger, earth-shattering, life-altering event, would leave the kids and I changed …

Forever …

On May 30, 2013 their father, my husband and best friend, lost a long fought battle with mental illness.

On May 30, 2013, Sean died by suicide.

Suicide has a stigma surrounding it, and many times, people hear about a suicide and think about what an awful person he/she must have been, for them to do that to their family … No one ever thinks about what a long and hard battle that person must have had with a mental illness, and to what a devastatingly low point had that person must have reached, for them to do such a thing.

No one thinks about the broken and hurting family left behind.

I am here to help break that stigma. Follow my blog as I delve deeper into the story and background, before that life-altering day. And discover, with me, as I learn how to cope with the loss of my mom and my husband and how I help my children thru their own grief. And explore, alongside me, as I figure out how to be a full-time, stay-at-home mom (until I go back to work). My main focuses right now are becoming organized, in home and schedule!

As if that isn’t enuf, find out how beading saved my life. And try new bead weaving skills when I do! Learn how I grow my business and find out if I can figure out how to make enough money to work from home, or will I have to go back to work?!
